Do I need to configure WooCommerce tracking?
No. INSG detects WooCommerce automatically on activation and starts tracking the full shopping funnel immediately. AJAX cart, page-reload cart, and WooCommerce Checkout Blocks are all supported with no configuration.
Does this work with WP EasyCart?
Yes. INSG auto-detects WP EasyCart and tracks product views, cart updates, checkout, purchases, and refunds. No additional configuration required.
Does this plugin use cookies?
No. INSG is completely cookieless. No consent banner is needed under GDPR, CCPA, or PECR. Zero client-side storage — no localStorage writes, no sessionStorage writes. The only access is a localStorage read for the opt-out flag.
How many tracker modules are there?
19 optional modules covering analytics, behavior, technology, heatmaps, and commerce. All zero client-side storage, all aggregate-only. Toggle them on/off per site in Settings. Default config is ~1.6 KB gzip. All 19 modules enabled is ~6.4 KB gzip.
What is Product Page Intelligence?
A tracker module that detects variant/swatch interactions, price hover dwell time, add-to-cart button hesitation, reviews section scroll and dwell, and gallery image clicks. Uses data-hs-* attributes with WooCommerce selector fallbacks. All aggregate, one beacon per page visit.
What are Smart Scores?
Three daily scores per page: Engagement (0-100, how visitors interact), Friction (0-100, signs of frustration), and Conversion Potential (0-100, likelihood of purchase). Computed from behavioral rollup data by a daily cron job. No ML — pure rule-based formulas.
How does AI analysis work?
The Intelligence tab has an 'Ask AI' box. It gathers aggregate-only data from your rollups (no personal data, no visitor hashes) and uses AI to analyze it. You get plain-English answers about friction points, conversion opportunities, and traffic patterns.
Is this GDPR compliant?
Yes. Zero cookies, zero client-side storage, no IP addresses stored, no fingerprinting. Visitor counting uses a daily-rotating SHA-256 hash that cannot be reversed. Behavioral data is aggregate-only (rolled up by hour, never stored per-visitor). Retention is enforced by daily cron.
What PHP versions are supported?
PHP 7.2 and above. The plugin auto-detects your PHP version and uses the best available encryption for API key storage.
Does this work with caching plugins?
Yes. Compatible with WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Rocket, and all other major caching plugins.
How is this different from MonsterInsights?
MonsterInsights is a wrapper around Google Analytics — you still need GA4, a consent banner, and the Pro plan ($200+/year) for WooCommerce tracking. INSG is standalone with built-in WooCommerce tracking, click heatmaps, AI analysis, and 19 behavioral modules on every plan including free.
Where does my data go?
