About INSG

INSG exists because web analytics shouldn't require invading your visitors' privacy.

Google Analytics tracks users across the web, sets cookies, requires consent banners, and sends your visitors' data to Google's advertising machine. Most site owners don't need any of that. They just want to know: how many people visited? Which pages are popular? Where did they come from?

INSG answers those questions with a ~1.6 KB gzip script that never sets a cookie, never fingerprints a browser, and never stores personal data. Your analytics run on a global edge network, so they're fast everywhere. And because we don't collect personal data, you don't need a consent banner — you're GDPR and CCPA compliant by default.

Why we built this

We were tired of paying $9+/month for privacy-first analytics, and tired of self-hosting open-source alternatives that needed constant maintenance. We wanted something in between: affordable, hosted, private, and dead simple.

INSG is that thing. A free plan that actually works. Paid plans starting at $5/month. No VC funding, no growth-at-all-costs pressure. Just a useful tool at a fair price.

How it works

  • 1. Add a single script tag to your site. It's ~1.6 KB gzip — smaller than most favicons.
  • 2. When someone visits your page, the script sends a lightweight beacon to our edge servers. Zero client-side storage — no cookies, no sessionStorage, no localStorage writes. Session grouping happens server-side. No fingerprinting, no personal data stored.
  • 3. We aggregate the data into pageviews, visitors, referrers, countries, devices, and browsers. No individual user profiles are ever created.
  • 4. View your dashboard. That's it. Simple analytics for people who respect their users.

Privacy by design

IP addresses are processed transiently in memory, combined with environmental signals and a daily rotating salt, then fed into an irreversible mathematical counting structure. The IP is never stored, never logged, and cannot be recovered from the output. We don't set cookies. We don't use fingerprinting. We don't build user profiles. We don't sell data. We don't share data. There is no personal data stored to leak, breach, or subpoena — because we destroy it immediately and irreversibly.
